5 Content “Convershation” Starting Ideas

We all know content is important. Did you know that your content that you post can be one of THE most important contributors to how much your story is seen by your customer? Social media platforms apply different weights to what you post, and often your content is what sets you apart in their decision to highlight your business. The goal of the platforms is to present what will be most interesting to their users, and you want that to be you!

Who creates your content? Are you spending enough time yourself coming up with content that your customers want to see? Instead of your content, are you only sharing what other people have shared? Or do you have a friend or intern coming up with your story? Here are 5 simple ways to focus your message and work towards figuring out what your customer wants to see!

  1. Before you create, take time to think! This seems pretty obvious, but taking time to think and plan out what you want to say over time will help you organize your thoughts and tell a story that interests your customer.
  2. Ask you key customers what they want to hear. Your top customers are one of your best resources for information. Make them feel special by letting them know that you value their input! Valuable content often comes from questions from those that are more interested in learning more about you.
  3. Envision your business in three years and where you want to be. Then put action items in place as to how you can get there. Create content that best allows you to become what you envision for your business.
  4. Do you have any upcoming events? Events are a great way to include your customer in your story. It can also give you a chance to engage them one on one. Event marketing can have powerful social reach when presented in a way that engages your customer to want to share with friends that they are attending.
  5. What new products or services are coming up soon? People are always interested in what’s coming next, and love the opportunity to be the first to know. Announce via your social media pages only that you’ll be offering a new product line or menu item, then track the results to see the effectiveness of the campaign.

If you’d like guidance on any of these topics, we’d love to Conversh with you about it! Content creation can be overwhelming, but it’s important to have someone put the time in that really knows your business and your customer. Conversh soon!
